From Hallmark movies to network growth, Bramble Jam proves niche podcasting can build loyal audiences and long-term business success.
Meet Daniel Thompson and Brandon Gray, co-founders of Bramble Jam Podcast Network. The pair founded Bramble Jam in 2019 out of a desire to help podcasters have a space where they can record high-quality podcasts, including both audio and video, without having to worry about equipment, editing, or uploading.
What started as a solution for creators has since grown into a network built around niche, engaged audiences and shows driven by personality.
At the center of Bramble Jam is Dan and Brandon’s co-hosted viral podcast, Deck the Hallmark, which they started in 2018 as a place to watch and review Hallmark Christmas movies in detail. Originally focused on seasonal holiday releases, the show quickly found an audience beyond its initial concept. Today, it covers winter and spring programming, Christmas in July releases, and features interviews with actors, writers, and directors across the genre.
Deck the Hallmark gives Christmas enthusiasts an excuse to celebrate all year round, and movie enthusiasts a chance to review (and gently rant about) the predictably positive plot points. If you can’t get enough Hallmark content, this is the show for you!
Three podcasts on the Bramble Jam Podcast Network are currently monetizing, including Deck the Hallmark, DCOM Descendants, which reviews Disney Channel Original Movies, and Christmas Morning, a show about all things Christmas.
As the network scaled, finding a monetization platform became a priority. When evaluating platforms, Dan emphasized three priorities:
Since moving to Simplecast, Bramble Jam has seen increased revenue by 25% and gained access to a larger advertiser pool than on their previous monetization platform. The shift allowed the team to stay focused on what they do best: producing content for their audience.
As Dan and Brandon shared recently on stage at On Air Fest 2026, they take a simple approach to content creation. Consistency counts, and building a loyal audience remains central to their strategy.
Bramble Jam’s growth continues to be shaped by a simple idea: focused shows can build lasting audience communities. As the network expands, that principle remains at the center of what comes next.
